Happy Spring!! This is my first blog on my new website. I hope to get in the swing of things to let you know what I’m up to. There’s never enough time to be in touch with each and every one of you, so I hope this will help keep us connected; and that you'll let me know what you're up to too.

I have just finished a series of concerts and workshops with 2 of my favorite performing groups—-Triskela (my Celtic harp trio), and Twin Harps (with Cheryl Ann Fulton). Twin Harps performed in the World Festival of Harps in Milwaukee and Southern California to full houses and standingovations. Triskela has been on an upswing with a series of concerts around St. Patty’s Day. Highlights were opening for the Black Brothers at the Freight and Salvage in my hometown of Berkeley, and playing on the main stage for the newly revived San Francisco Celtic Festival. Other good news for Triskela is that we’ve been asked to license our version of my song “Weddings Bells” (on our “Voice of Tara” CD) for the forthcoming film “Reclaiming the Blade”. This exciting documentary on the modern revival of swordsmanship is narrated by John Rhys-Davies (who played Gimli in "Lord of the Rings") and also features interviews with Viggo “Aragorn” Mortensen and others. Triskela will also be featured on the film’s soundtrack album; and director Daniel McNicol has expressed interest in collaborating on future projects.

With those shows behind me, I’ve put aside my harpist hat this week and donned my director’s hat. I’ve been meeting and talking to presenters for our 2009 20th anniversary of the Festival of Harps. I’m currently working on shows in Monterey, Modesto, Sonoma, and of course the Bay Area.

Also this week, I finished up a new website for the Multi-Cultural Music Fellowship-—presenters of the Festival of Harps, with webmaster Jim Ward. Read about it on the MCMF website.

I’ve started rehearsals with a lovely local harpist—Diana Rowan. She and I share a love of the exotic and I’m looking forward to arranging and composing new music with her. We have a show scheduled for Nov. 2nd at St. Mary’s Cathedral in San Francisco. And with my life partner—Teed Rockwell, I’m brushing up on my Indian raga chops for an upcoming Labyrinth Walk at Grace Cathedral on April 11th.

Whenever possible, I take off on my bike. Berkeley is a veritable fairyland of flowering blossoms. I’ve never known such a beautiful Spring in the Bay Area. Today, the cherry blossoms were out and filled my heart to bursting!

With love and respect to our Great Mother...
